Job Purpose:

The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) will lead NIKE's relationship with key accounts. The SAM will embrace NIKE's growth strategy and seek ways to create opportunities to grow the market and serve the consumers, elevate and maintain the NIKE brand's premium positioning. The SAM will own and lead the development of account plans, drive cross-functional support internally for the plans and also be responsible for their execution day to day. The SAM will help lead the seasonal Go-To-Market process, both internally and with accounts, and also drive prescribed growth against key categories and product assortments while acting as the lead manager who ensures that account relationships are maximized, goals and targets are met, products are shipped and delivered, inventories are healthy and invoicing and payments are completed. The SAM is expected to interface with the NIKE regional team in Singapore for strategies, direction and collaboration with regard to the Indonesia business.

The SAM is also responsible for market sensing and competitive intelligence, sharing this information with the broader team and ensuring that winning strategies are developed and executed to beat the competition and gain market share. The SAM is a team leader responsible for developing and motivating direct reports and other team members as tasked. He/she will also partner with the Commercial Director and Country Leadership Team to develop and drive strategies for NIKE Indonesia.


• Create Growth
o Drive the increase in Sales Revenue and Profitability for accounts
o Deliver account and door level sell-through and productivity targets
o Increase NIKE's market share with key accounts and in the market overall
• Drive Marketplace Expansion
o Create capacity for new growth via marketplace elevation and transformation strategies
o Drive effective account-relevant marketplace leadership such as executing category and assortment plans in doors
• Develop Key Account Plans
o Develop and execute the business plan for the Accounts in view NIKE and account priorities, product and category strategies, the retail marketplace landscape and investment needs
o Execute account plans (business plans, seasonal forecasts, scenario plans)
• Be the NIKE lead with key accounts
o Ensure alignment with internal team and other functions to drive a focused and singular approach to the account
o Drive holistic account management and cross-functional integration
o Ensure effective inventory and financial risk management of each account
• Lead a Disciplined Go-To-Market Process
o Execute key internal and external meetings and checkpoints
• Monitor the Marketplace and Competitive Dynamics
o Be knowledgeable about macro and industry trends that will impact the business
o Develop competitive attack plans for key accounts
• Champion Team Collaboration and Integration
o Lead and manage the retailers/accounts and collaborate with the enabling functions to achieve country/account objectives
o Monitor, read and analyze data on sell-in, inventory levels and operations of stores for improvement and/or to create new business opportunities
o Influence/negotiate with business partners
• Lead and Develop People
o Ensure the success of direct reports
o Champion, support and lead team efforts


• At least 8-10 years of experience in Sales with multi-national companies
• Experience in the sporting industry or the fast-moving consumer goods industry
• Account Management or Category Management experience
• Proven track record of delivering results - sales growth and market share gain
• Ability to manage complexity and function in ambiguity
• Data analysis skills and the ability to identify issues and opportunities through regular reviews of business performance
• Ability to negotiate/persuade with sensitivity, and motivate others
• Good financial acumen
• Success driving functional integration and creating success in a matrix environment
• Effective writing, presentation and oral communication skills, capable of holding the attention of a room, selling and storytelling and connecting with team members and accounts from diverse educational and ethnic backgrounds
• Successful experience leading and training people, on-boarding new talent and driving their success and career development
• Passion for sports
